USAR
Workpackage five provides technical and functional assistance to support review and development of DRM frameworks to accommodate an USAR emergency response capacity for response to earthquakes.
Work Package 2.2 – USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) development
Responsible consortium partner: DSU
This work package supports work towards the Programme outcome of incorporation of USAR response according to INSARAG-standard in the national disaster risk management systems of partner countries.
The Programme activities will commence with the revision and reporting of current capacities and identification of need-based equipment that can be aligned with the components on training and exercises that will begin the following years.
Depending on the context-specific capacity of USAR Development in the partner countries, the training and exercises will be developed individually based on the INSARAG standards. All activities will be aligned with the standard in order to ensure strengthening towards the classification and the ability to respond accordingly with other stakeholders in case of an earthquake.
