Volunteerism
IPA CARE supports the engagement of volunteers in civil protection. The programme assists partner countries in building a structured cooperation between government actors in civil protection and volunteer-based organisations and in developing capacity for volunteer management.
Work Package 1.3 – Civil protection Volunteerism

This work package supports work towards the Programme outcome of strengthened volunteerism in national disaster risk management frameworks.
Activities include reviews of current legislations and frameworks in each partner country in order to highlight mandates between government actors in civil protection and volunteer-based organisations. Thereafter, best practices for developing or improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be shared through workshops. Further, already existing networks for civil protection stakeholders for authorities, volunteer organisations and other stakeholders engaged in civil protection volunteerism will be used or created in order to share ideas, initiatives and strengthen coordination, aiming to increase capacities for volunteer engagement and management.
